Meet Mindy

I am Mindy Garner, and I’ve been selling real estate in this area since August 5, 1991. This year will be my 30th anniversary! I’ve been working with seniors who are downsizing since my first clients, but in 2002 I started ElderMove Alliance with my husband Mike Garner. He was working in the senior housing industry, and we could see from both ends of downsizing moves that downsizing is a tough thing to do. We thought that bringing information to seniors to help with this would be a great help, since most people only have to do it once, and that means figuring it out from scratch every single time. We started doing seminars to introduce people to the easiest way to accomplish the move, and to professionals who could help, and that was our first ElderMove Alliance live seminar, at the North Bellevue Community Center.

ElderMove Alliance still does the same work, bringing expert help to seniors to do 3 things: Making downsizing much easier; making staying at home work better; knowing other things that you need right now.

My real estate career has been mostly with seniors on their downsizing moves. I have helped people move to senior housing including independent living, assisted living, and adult family homes, as well as into smaller single family homes and condominiums. I can help with purchasing as well as selling, and I will be there throughout the process, from figuring out whether you want to do any fix-up, to whether you want to move first or last, to finding your best buyer, through getting you moved and the sale closed. Of course I can provide services to help with any or all of the things you want to do to move, or to ready the house.

One part of my job that I really enjoy is to help you decide whether to sell as-is, or to make changes. I love walking through way early in the process, and discussing what you might want to do to prepare. Some things will pay off, and some things won’t, and we can work through that together. I majored in interior design in college, and am a closet designer. I love using those mental muscles!
